JOB BRIEF:
As the Chief Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our resort. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy in bookkeeping, and leveraging strong data and system skills to optimize financial processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Bookkeeping and Accounting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, conduct regular reconciliations of accounts and resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Financial Reporting:Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and generate insightful financial reports for management review.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes and analyze variances between actual and budgeted financial results.
- System Management: Manage financial systems and software applications and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Audit and Compliance: Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Data Analysis: Utilize strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide recommendations for improving financial performance.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIMA, ACCA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
